Biovance™ is a decellularized, dehydrated human amniotic membrane (DDHAM) that provides a protective cover from the surrounding environment. As a biological membrane covering, Biovance™ provides a barrier to protect the underlying tissue and preserve tissue plane boundaries.
Biovance™ was evaluated in a real-world patient study to gain clinical and safety experience.
- 179 chronic wounds were treated at 15 different wound-care sites (of 244 wounds observed at 19 centers)
- Approximately 50% of subjects with chronic wounds (average size: 3.1 cm2) treated with Biovance™ reached complete wound closure within 8 weeks. In comparison to the historic literature, 24% to 33% of subjects (average wound size: 1.6 cm2) who received standard of care treatment reached complete wound closure at 12 and 20 weeks.
